The Havana Seed — Nicotiana tabacum originating from Cuba's Vuelta Abajo region — has been grown on Indonesian soil for generations. What makes this seed extraordinary is not just its lineage, but what the volcanic soils and equatorial humidity of Java do to it.
The result is a leaf with exceptional combustibility, a naturally smooth draw, and a flavour profile that balances earthy depth with a lighter, approachable character — perfectly suited to the Mini Cigar format.
The Production
Process
Five stages stand between a raw tobacco leaf and a Ronald Cigar. Each is performed by hand. None can be skipped.
Only top-grade Havana Seed leaves from Java's highland belt are accepted. Each leaf is evaluated for colour uniformity, texture, and elasticity. Anything substandard is rejected at this stage — before any rolling begins.
Selected leaves enter a climate-controlled curing house where temperature and humidity are monitored around the clock. Fermentation unlocks the depth, smoothness, and combustibility that defines Ronald Cigar's character.
The short filler blend is assembled by hand — a precise ratio of leaves chosen for burn consistency and flavour balance. The bunch is formed and pressed before the binder leaf is applied.
Our torcedores roll each cigar entirely by hand using techniques passed down through generations. Ring 22 precision at 91mm demands years of practice to achieve consistently — no machine replicates the tension, tightness, and feel of an experienced pair of hands.
Each finished cigar passes a multi-point inspection: visual grading, draw resistance testing, and weight verification. Only cigars that pass all three checkpoints are banded, boxed, and permitted to carry the Ronald Cigar name.
What Makes
a Cigar Pass
Every batch is subject to three checkpoints before it reaches a partner venue. The standard does not adjust for production pressure or season — a cigar either passes, or it doesn't leave the facility.
- Uniform Colorado wrapper colour with no discolouration or tears
- Draw resistance within 40–55 mmHg (smooth, not loose)
- Weight within ±0.3g of standard specification
- Visually straight body with no soft spots along the length
- Consistent burn line within 3mm deviation during test burn
- Any visible crack, split, or wrapper inconsistency
- Draw too tight (>60 mmHg) or too loose (<35 mmHg)
- Weight outside the ±0.3g tolerance window
- Soft spots indicating uneven fill distribution
- Burn deviation exceeding 5mm — sign of blend inconsistency

Rejected cigars are never sold as seconds or repackaged. They are disposed of at the facility. We maintain this policy without exception to protect every partner venue's reputation.

Behind the
Band
Ronald Cigar is produced at the facility of PT Cipta Gading Tembakao in Tangerang, Banten — a company with deep roots in Indonesia's national tobacco industry. The production team is led by a master torcedor with over two decades of experience rolling premium cigars for the domestic and export market.
No detail is delegated to machines. The same pair of hands that blends the filler also checks the finished product — because consistency in a hand-rolled cigar can only be maintained by someone who genuinely understands every step of its making.
